Kraft Plus March challenge 2017

the challenge this month is to incorporate paint swatches onto Kraft
My page didn't quite come out the way it was in my mind's eye however I think it is worth a look!

As one can see I used paint swatches to build the base of my photo.  I also punched out a basic flower shape from my pale blue paint swatches and topped them with puffy star stickers  from Bella Boulevard

Products used :

Bella Boulevard Puffy Sticker Stars

Finnabair Art Basics Heavy White Gesso, and 3D Gloss Gel ( to adhere the beads)

Maya Road Stencil

13 Arts Ayeeda Inks -Navy Blue and Sky Blue

Finnabair Art Ingredients Glass Beads - Turquoise

ScrapMatts Retro Squares and Assorted Words

Kaisercraft Paper Flowers Coconut

Green Tara White flowers

(Both of which I colored with the Sky Blue ink)

Liquitex Paint Marker Titanium White

Stampin Up Flower punch

Dylusion Paint Pen White Linen (I don't think it liked the other inks as it kinda seized up on me mid stroke which was a bit

disturbing!!)

I got the idea of 2 areas of mixed media on the page from one  awesome  lady - Gabriel Pollaco's mixed media pages

on Pinterest.

The technique of inking over a stencilled background was something I learned from the very talented and generous of spirit

Rikki Grazziani

thanks Kraft Plus for a great challenge!

Feeling somewhat guilty about the massive collection of paint swatches I gathered before I decided on the direction to take!!

Perhaps I can sneak into Bunnings and  surreptitiously  replace em all!!

Scrap The Girls April Moodboard

How the year is rolling on!!
Time for a new challenge at Scrap The Girls.
Yummy Mood board this month

                                       "Sea Glass"

I was inspired by those colors! They are so gorgeous together!
I thought this photo of my daughter thoroughly enjoying her bubble bath would fit beautifully with these colors

These lovely chipboard hearts are from the Dusty Attic Heart attack panel. I painted them with white gesso and when dry dabbed on Colour Blast color paste"Singing the Blues"

When they were dry I painted them with Dustty Attic Gloss Varnish Clear- I think this really makes them shine!

The dots are Doodlebug Designs Sprinkles - Swimming Pool.

The papers are from the Kaisercraft Fairy Dust Collection-Sparkly, Pixie and Fairy Dust.

The wordlet, treated the same way as the hearts is from 2Crafty

The stencil I used is from The Crafter's Workshop "Mini The Story"- isn't it just gorgous!!

I think I'll be using it a lot!!  This time I used Colour Blast Color Paste "Apple Of My Eye"

I love how these flowers nestled together so well!

The large one is from Manor house-Sparkly Flower

the 4 petal flowers are from Green Tara, with the Doodlebug Designs Sprinkles in the centre.

The blue flower was from a collection I had bought at Made With Memories(Rockingham)

I tucked in a few more blue hearts and a seam binding bow,

then dotted the sprinkles sparingly about the page

Looking forward to seeing your interpretation of the Mood Board this month!

You can take inspiration from one or more of the photos, or just the colors as I did.

Pop on over to the ScrapThe Girls Blog and check it out!

Kraftplus March challenge

http://kraftpluschallenges.blogspot.com.au/

the challenge- to use denim!!

I chopped up two pairs of denim shorts( thanks St Vinnies!) to make the flowers.
I embroidered the edges of the flowers with some gorgeous embroidery thread I had bought months ago waiting for the right page!- Cottage Garden Threads 2102 Gerbera
The papers and ephemera etc are from the lovely Cocoa Vanilla Studios Make a Wish Collection.
I am pretty pleased with how it all came together!

shopancrop february blog challenge 2017

the challenge for shopancrop this month was a Tic Tac Toe
http://shopancrop.blogspot.com.au/p/current-challenge.html

I chose to work with Pattern Paper, Sequins and Wood Veneer.
All the product I used was from Cocoa Vanilla Studios  Make a Wish Collection and the base page was from Kaisercraft Weave Collection Bubblegum.
I based the sketch around one from a Scrapbook and Cards Today Calendar 2013, though by the time I finished it had changed somewhat!

thanks for looking:)
